Purpose of the job
We intend to build GreenCape’s technical expertise in the African energy sector through this role. There is a chance that the candidate could influence South Africa’s future energy direction.
Qualification/Education
-
Several relevant degrees can be obtained in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Resource Management, Environmental Sciences, and other related fields.
Project Delivery, Support & Reporting
- No prior work experience is required;
- Postgraduate degree preferred;
- Interest in a career in the green economy;
- Computer literate- MS Office with a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel;
- Proven Troubleshooting and problem solving ability;
- Previous; and
- Green Economy-related written content is advantageous (e.g. news articles, feature articles, etc.).
Competencies and Skills
- Communicate clearly (both verbally and in writing) and confidently in formal and informal settings;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Being flexible and willing to assist with other organisational needs;
- Ability to self-manage, multi-task and to prioritise; and
- Innovative and driven.
Contract length and remuneration
The position is contract-based. Renewing the contract will depend on the performance of the employee and the requirements of the organization at the time. This position will be probationary for three months.
In recognition of GreenCape’s status as a not-for-profit organization, remuneration will be market-related. The employee benefit of medical aid is available to some employees (subject to certain conditions).
