As part of its Student Affairs and Extracurricular Development Directorate, the Department of Health and Wellness is looking to hire a professional nurse on an ongoing basis for the Pretoria West campus.(Health and Wellness Department Professional Nurse X1)
Critical Performance Areas
- Primary healthcare services for students that include promotion, prevention, curative, and rehabilitative care.
- Educate students on a regular basis and offer sessions for their development.
- Keeping records of patients
- Ensure that various campaigns and projects related to health are promoted by the Health and Wellness staff.
- Distribute information to staff in Health and Wellness.
- Contribute to the compilation of a standard operating procedure manual.
- Provide staff and students with emergency services.
- Ensure that the Health and Wellness program is monitored and evaluated.
- Treatment and counseling for HIV, as well as HIV testing and counselling.
- Outreach projects should be undertaken in the community.

Minimum Requirements
- With a minimum of 360 credits, a three-year nursing qualification at NQF level 6 is required
- Extensive experience in HIV/AIDS services within the last three years
- AIDS Management Certificate
- An application for registration with the South African Nursing Council is required
- Dispenser’s Certificate
