The Bern Academy of the Arts – University of Basel Swiss-South African Cultural Relations conference was attended by Prof Chats Devroop, Research Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Design.

Attendees were highly impressed by Prof Devroop’s presentation and emphasized the importance of understanding what cross-cultural exchange can do for music and the arts.

As part of the conference, Prof Devroop also visited Bonn’s Arts Precinct and established connections with the ArtEZ Conservatorium in Enschede, Netherlands (a city that lives up to its reputation as one of Germany’s finest art centres).

“As a global city, Pretoria provides an excellent example of how to lead artistically,” says Prof Devroop.

Prof Devroop’s links with ArtEZ Conservatorium may lead to exciting new opportunities for international collaboration in the future, as the Conservatorium is known for its innovative and collaborative approach to arts education and arts therapy.
