A lecturer at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Tshwane University of Technology was awarded the Ubuntu Youth Diplomacy Award by Dr Naledi Pandor, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation. Taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on 11 February 2023, the Ubuntu Awards are hosted annually.

Speaking at the awards ceremony Department of International Relations and Cooperation Minister, Dr Naledi Pandor, said: “I am honoured to shine a light on South Africans who have distinguished themselves in promoting our national interests, our talents, and values around the world as ambassadors of our country.”
According to Dr Pandar, the awards celebrate excellence and were created to honor excellence within the department. Each nominee and award recipient at the event represented the meaning of ubuntu, an ancient African philosophy that teaches compassion and uplifting communities.
With her skills in healthcare, development, and policy, Nsovo has served South Africa as well as the global community.
Known for advocating for women’s health and access to healthcare, she is an award-winning contributor. The World Health Organization has recognized her voice and service.
In Further, Nsovo is coordinating for the local manufacturing of medicines within the African continent with the African Union’s Development Agency NEPAD to address medicine access inequalities that Africa experienced during the pandemic.
