Professor Nalini Moodley-Diar will serve as Executive Dean for the Faculty of Arts and Design for a second term. Professor Polly Mashigo has also been reappointed as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Finance. With effect from 1 January 2023, Dr Mumthaz Boonabhai will serve another term as Senior Director at the Directorate of Higher Education Development Support (HEDS).

Moodley-Diar holds a B.A. (Fine Arts), an M.A. in Art History, a UPGCE, and a PhD in Art History from the University of KwaZulu-Natal focusing on the visual art of Indian South Africans. Her 28 years of experience in her field make Prof Moodley-Diar highly recommended.

It has been over 26 years since Prof Mashigo joined the University. During her academic career, she has held positions such as Head of the Commercial Education Department, Head of Public Management and Political Science Department, Head of Economics Department, and Interim Campus Rector. Professor Mashigo holds a Doctor of Letters and PhD in Economics from the University of Johannesburg, which focused on extending credit to low-income and poor households in South Africa. As part of her second doctoral degree, she obtained a DBA (Higher Education Management) from the University of Bath, UK, focusing on the assessment of cooperative governance in the democratic South African higher education sector post-1994.
