TUT Alum Appointed to Head Tshwane FM 93.6
Upon acceptance of the position, Magubane emphasized his excitement for the opportunity and his motivation to contribute to Tshwane FM’s success. It is the very station that recently appointed me as its manager that gave me the inspiration to become an entertainer. Back then, the station was called TUT Top Stereo 93.6.”
My time at Top Stereo 93.6 was divided between various positions and working as an editor for a student publication. In terms of my career path, accomplishments, and recognition, this station made an enormous contribution to my success. My only comment is that I’m glad to return home,” Magubane said.
He is described by colleagues as a content champion, a passionate broadcaster who keeps up with the latest developments, both nationally and internationally, in the media space.
Having graduated from the University of Zimbabwe with a National Certificate Accounting in 2001, Magubane is a passionate and technologically adept individual. His skills were refined at the China Radio and TV Corporation for International Techno-Economic Cooperation (CRTV) where he earned a Certificate in Broadcasting Techniques for developing countries.
The University of Witwatersrand also awarded Magubane an Advanced Certificate in Broadcast and a Law Degree.
Upon joining Mungana Lonene FM as a presenter in 2008, Magubane began his career at the SABC. The next step was to promote him to Producer of Phaphama (Breakfast Show) and to take on the additional role of Traffic Presenter on the show. The position of Programmes Manager was Magubane’s in 2018.
During 2020, he took on the role of Acting Station Manager at Mungana Lonene FM and held it until 2021, when the position was discontinued by the national broadcaster. After returning to his previous position as Programmes Manager, he left the company in June.
As the manager of Tshwane FM Station, the University wishes Magubane the best of luck.
