Application for Residence Accommodation
First-year students
All applicants who wish to apply for residence accommodation application at TUT should indicate this on their official admission application form. This scholarship is for students who have already been accepted into a full-time academic program at TUT. If the number of first-year students qualifying for residence exceeds the number of places available, further selection will be based on the date on which the faculty received their unconditional acceptance.
Returning senior students
It’s important to apply for residence accommodation for the following year before the end of October by using the online application process. Students can login to their Student iEnabler accounts and select/click on Residence accommodation Application. If you are a returning student and you do not follow the proper procedure, you will not be guaranteed a spot in the residence next year. The students who will be chosen to fill those spots will be selected based on the criteria that is stated in the placement policy.
The main requirements are the following:
- In order to live in on-campus housing, the student must have received a minimum academic average of 50% for the entire academic year, or 55% if they are applying for a senior residence. All semester and year courses must also have been passed.
- The student is not allowed to stay in any TUT residence for more than the maximum number of years.
- The maximum number of years is the minimum number of academic years required plus one additional year;
- In order to be considered a full-time student, you must be registered for a minimum of two subjects. Subjects that are registered for non-degree purposes will not be counted towards this requirement.
- All outstanding fees must be settled or arrangements made with TUT Student Finance before you can graduate.
All students who wish to apply for on-campus housing should do so at the beginning of the academic year, after they have registered for classes. Applications will be considered after returning seniors and first-year students have been registered, and students will be selected according to the same criteria that applies to returning students. Housing is offered on a first-come-first served basis.
