We are currently hiring for the position of NGAP LECTURER CIVIL TECHNOLOGY at our Soshanguve North Campus in the Department of Technology and Vocational Education.

It involves the recruitment of new cohorts of academics as part of the New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP). Priority is given to designated candidates in this program, which is transformative in nature.

The candidate must be under the age of 40. As part of the NGAP program, the appointment holder is able to take advantage of teaching and research development opportunities, and they are also required to register for a PhD or postdoctoral degree.

• TUT Compensation Fund Bursary Scheme 2022/23

A successful candidate will be enrolled in a six-year comprehensive development and induction program, following which she/he will continue as an academic staff member.

The university stipulates the following criteria for applicants to be selected for an NGAP post:

• Become interested in academic careers
• With a 70% average on the master’s degree in education, I earned my master’s degree.
• The age of 40 or younger  TUT Vacancy
• Ensure that you are eligible to pursue postgraduate doctoral studies
• Ensure that you will be able to commit to the 6 years of your placement at the appointing university
• African, coloured, Indian, and South African citizens will occupy at least 80% of the positions, while 55% of them must be female.

Key Performance Areas/ Core Functions:

• Engineering Graphics and Design and Civil Technology;
• Involvement in research groups with a particular focus on obtaining a doctorate; TUT Vacancy
• With the supervision of a mentor, collaborate with industry and other stakeholders regarding research, collaborative projects, and community service;
• Projects involving community engagement

1. Academic qualifications:

• Masters with 70% pass rate in Education with a clear specialization in Civil technology and Engineering Graphics and Design.

2. Knowledge and Skills

• Technical education, Vocational Pedagogy, Civil technology skills related to civil services, construction and wood work.
